Lomi: not "just" a massage

The Lomi Lomi Nui is an ancient, spiritual massage from Hawaii, traditionally used as an initiation or transformation ritual by the shamans (Kahunas). It is passed down from family to family, resulting in variations in the massage techniques. "Lomi" means “to knead or rub,” and the repetition of the word amplifies its intensity. "Nui" translates to “unique ritual.” Therefore, the Lomi Lomi Nui Massage is a distinctive, spiritual practice that can help you let go of old beliefs and layers, welcoming new energies into your life. My teacher emphasized that Lomi is only 10% about technique and 90% about love and being present with the person, a sentiment I deeply resonate with. This massage allows you to feel held and opens a safe space for emotional release.

The healing touch and strokes of this massage blew me away, and I fell in love with it when I experienced my first Lomi massage in the summer of 2022. In the Lomi massage, I use both my hands and forearms to massage you in fluid movements from head to toe, only avoiding the intimate areas. The strokes can vary — they may be soft and long, slow, or quick. During the Lomi massage, your body and muscles are touched, held, and stretched. It is common to drift off into a kind of dream state while the massage is in progress. I always recommend taking it slow for the rest of the day, being extra kind to yourself after receiving a Lomi massage.

Reiki infused Lomi Massage

The desire to blend the two healing tools I work with came very naturally to me. It feels like the perfect fit, inviting sacred wisdom from Japan and Hawaii to create a massage experience where you can deeply explore your inner self. This extended massage session integrates Reiki throughout, with dedicated time at both the beginning and end of the session to provide focused Reiki energy. This combined approach is recommended for those who wish to delve deeply and who may have already experienced either a Lomi massage or a Reiki treatment before, though prior experience is not a requirement.
